Tree Assignment

Follow the following instructions:
Part A:
Make a chart that shows a list of trees and categories of characteristics that could be used to identify trees. Some examples of categories include bark type, leaf margin, coniferous or deciduous. See if you can come up with some other categories that could be used to identify trees. There are several others that are used regularly.
Use the following site to obtain pictures and additional information about the trees you have selected:

Part B:
Go to the following site and examine it carefully: http://www.mhcbe.ab.ca/ict/Projects/treesforest/treesForests.htm Select a tree (you must have your tree selected approved by the teacher) Prepare a research report of your tree by following the steps on the website you examined above. Choose from the following list: Jack Pine, Lodgepole Pine, Tamarack, White Spruce, Black Spruce, Balsam Fir, Willow, Aspen Poplar, Balsam Poplar, and White Birch. A good site for researching trees is:http://www.treecanada.ca/trees/index.php Your presentation could be done in powerpoint but may also be done in any other technology that could be presented at school.
